Preparing the Printer for Transport

Important

Re-attach the front upper cover and the rear upper cover.

Tape the covers of the paper cassettes and the printer to hold them in

place.

Attach the shipping material to the paper cassettes and to the printer,

then place them in the box.

This completes preparing the printer for transport.

z After moving the printer to a new location, be sure to follow the instructions in

Chapter 1, “Setting Up the Printer” to set up the printer.

z After executing the procedure above for “Move Printer” on the printer operation

panel, even if you attempt to re-install the ink tanks in the printer the ink tanks will

not initialize and fill automatically. After installing the ink tanks, set the printer

offline and execute “Head Cleaning C”. (Æ User’s Guide, Chapter 7, “Cleaning

the Printhead”)

z After executing “Move Printer” if you remove the power cord and the printer goes

off before it powers off automatically, shipping the printer as it is could damage it.

Re-attach the power cord, re-install the ink tanks, and repeat the procedure from

Step 1. (Æ “5 Install the Ink Tanks”, P.1-17)
